The extra prolific Sven Wunder strikes again with this instant classic 7". Recorded in between his 2nd album Wabi Sabi and his new forthcoming (jazz ?) project, Sven makes us travel Far East with this interpretations of Töryanse and Sakura, two traditional Japanese songs from the Edo period, merging jazz funk to ancestral songs using the guzheng (the Chinese zither) panoramic strings, harpsichord, japanese choirs backed by pounding funky drums. As usual impeccable lush production reminding me Ennio Moriconne, Baroque Jazz Trio, Stringtronics and Minoru Muroaka in the same tune ! Housed in a superb tip-on cardboard sleeve with this Italian Library minimalist aesthetic, you just need this nugget ! Ultra Limited run, sold out everywhere, certainly a futur collector !
